The Wisconsin Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (WISCA) recently honored several high school swimming & diving student-athletes and coaches for their achievements during the 2008-09 school year. The annual WISCA all-state banquet was held at the Chandelier Ball Room in Hartford, WI on Sunday, May 3.
This year's special award winners are as follows:
GIRLS Division 1
Swimmer of the Year - Aja Van Hout (Madison East H.S.)
Diver of the Year - Kylie Rosenstock (Madison West H.S.)
Coach of the Year - Jason Verhelst (Madison Memorial H.S.)
Diving Coach of the Year (Both Divisions) - Al Hudacek (Eau Claire Memorial H.S.)
GIRLS Division 2
Swimmer of the Year - Kelsey Hojan Clark (Brookfield Academy H.S.)
Diver of the Year - Laura Van de Boom (Port Washington H.S.)
Coach of the Year - Melani Guentherman (Sauk Prairie H.S.)
BOYS Division 1
Swimmer of the Year - Michael Drives (Madison Memorial H.S.)
Diver of the Year - Nathan Cox (Menomonee Falls-Germantown-Hamilton)
Coach of the Year - Todd Wuerger (Sauk Prairie-Wisconsin Heights)
Diving Coach of the Year (Both Divisions) - Herman Acevedo (Marquette University H.S.)
BOYS Division 2
Swimmer of the Year - Brandon O'Donnell (McFarland H.S.)
Diver of the Year - Will Mathee (Cedarburg H.S.)
